Introduction
What you can build with DanskAdresseAPI — and which of the two surfaces to choose.

DanskAdresseAPI gives you every Danish address with autocomplete, validation, geocoding and lookups in BBR, the cadastre and DAGI areas.
Two surfaces, one dataset
There are two ways to call the API. They reach the same data.
/dawa — recommended | /v1 — in development | |
|---|---|---|
| For | Everything: new builds and migrations | Special cases where you need the enrichment |
| Dataset | All of DAWA's | Still missing parts of it |
| Shape | 1:1 with the official DAWA | Modern REST, one error format |
| Pick it if | You are unsure | You have checked that what you need is there |
Use /dawa — including for something entirely new. It has the full dataset, it is measured against the official DAWA, and it stays after 1 October 2026.
Migrating an existing integration? Start with Change the base URL — it takes under a minute.
/v1 is still in development and does not yet carry all of DAWA's dataset. In return it gives you combined enrichment and one consistent error format, so choose it deliberately — not by default. v1 or /dawa? walks through the differences.
Base URL
Every call goes to:
https://api.danskadresseapi.dkWhat a call costs
One HTTP call counts as one lookup — except the batch endpoints, where up to 100 inputs count as one lookup. See Rate limits for the limits on your plan.
DAWA shuts down on 1 October 2026.
The /dawa surface stays and is 1:1 with the official one. Change your base URL now
and your integration keeps working with no other changes.
